ABOUT US
Founded in 2013, Rainbow Elder Care of Greater Dayton works with LGBTQ+ seniors and allies to help them live authentically and on their own terms. To that end, our work is to connect our elders with the resources they need, whether they stay in their own homes or wish to move to an affirming senior living community.

As the only fully inclusive LGBTQ elder organization in the Miami Valley, we drive positive change by:
- Delivering education and training about the LGBTQ population and the needs of LGBTQ elders specifically
- Performing advocacy that helps policy makers and the public understand and effectively respond to the needs of LGBTQ elders
- Publicly promoting information about the needs of LGBTQ elders in our area
- Collaborating with straight allies and other organizations to meet the needs of LGBTQ elders
- Providing support and leadership to university researchers who study and identify the needs of LGBTQ elders in the Miami Valley
- Providing support and leadership to local groups working to provide LGBTQ-friendly affordable housing for seniors
- Sponsoring events and activities that honor and celebrate the contributions of LGBTQ elders
- Organizing social activities that build community and reduce the isolation of LGBTQ elders
- Providing information and referrals to meet the needs of individual LGBTQ elders
