IN MEMORIAM
Rainbow Elder Care wouldn’t exist or be what it is today without the tireless efforts of these board members who passed away while serving on the REC board. We miss them greatly and keep their legacy alive in the work they started.

Jerry Mallicoat
founder and former board president
Jerry saw the need for support and resources among LGBTQ+ elders and, following a showing of the film “Gen Silent”, set out to ensure the needs of the community were met, from housing to legal to food security and more. Jerry passed away in January 2021. His leadership and advocacy in the region is sorely missed.

William Booth
BOARD MEMBER
Another of Rainbow Elder Care’s early founders, William was instrumental in bringing the needs of those living with HIV and AIDS to the organization. William also brought his heart and soul to the work of the organization, and ensured that REC always had a presence through community events and presentations. William passed in December 2023.

Dickie Wilson
BOARD MEMBER
Dickie joined the REC board after seeing needs of the LGBTQ+ community and wondering where he could be of service. His advocacy and light electrified the REC board, and he was always first to ensure we had a meeting place to plan and carry out the work REC sought to do in the Miami Valley. Dickie passed in 2019, but his energy lives on to propel REC forward.
